Of The Walk is a creative initiative by KLCW to empower young, hungry artists who want to make their distinct, literal impression on the capital city. KL Citywalk, like KL, is a living, breathing, cultural melting pot- and a figurative canvas for the expression of that boundless spirit. But where is the real canvas?
That’s what KLCW is offering to 3 aspiring artists – a canvas to exhibit YOUR artistic vision, right in the beating heart of Kuala Lumpur. Seen & experienced by thousands of pedestrians, in 3 dimensions, for 6 whole months.
ARE YOU AN ARTIST?
Submit your design, regardless if you are an established creative, if you moonlight as a designer or if you are a student. In keeping with the ideology of KL Citywalk, your final work should be 3-dimensional art installation made from recycled items of any non-toxic material that is conscious of the environment around it. KLCW will provide a 4ft(W) x 6ft(H) art panel, for your final work to be mounted as a centrepiece exhibit at Block J,
beneath the Jenerator public events venue.

“CENDANA is excited to be working with KLCW for ‘Of The Walk’ in empowering young and budding artists as well as providing an accessible art platform to the people of Kuala Lumpur. In the effort of positioning KL as a Creative and Cultural city, we all can play a part to make this a collective success”
– Izan Satrina Dato’ Mohd. Salehuddin, Founding CEO of the Cultural Economy Development Agency (CENDANA)
“I wish ‘Of The Walk’ had existed when I was starting out as an artist. A platform for local artists to display their work in the centre of KL, with exposure to thousands of people & tourists; it could even lead to crossover collaborations and the opportunity to exchange culture & ideas with people from all over the world”
– Fritilldea, Mural Artist, Malaysia
